July 14, 2018 (Alpine) – San Miguel Fire Protection District posted these dramatic images of their firefighters battling to save mobile homes during the West Fire in Alpine on July 6th.
The fast-moving wildfire burned over 500 acres and destroyed some 34 homes, but many more were saved thanks to the valiant efforts of firefighters from San Miguel and many other departments working in triple-digit heat.
